2020 Camp Schedule

Which Class is right for me?

Discover Sailing - This two-week course is a great introduction for beginners and those with less experience on the water. During this fun, full day camp participants learn all the basics of rigging, launching, and sailing a small boat. Emphasis is on having fun and being safe around the water while making new friends. Participants enjoy activities and games both on and off the water. The program is focused on empowering and developing kids not only to be enthusiastic sailors but to be confident in their everyday lives.

Seasoned Sailing - This two-week course is for the intermediate sailor who has mastered the basics taught in our Discover Sailing course. Seasoned sailors starts with a quick review of the basics, and quickly transitions into intermediate skills such as advanced boat handling, sail theory, navigation, and distance sailing. As with all of our programs, our primary emphasis is on Fun and Safety on the water. Seasoned Sailing combines on-the-water activities with shore-side sailing-related S.T.E.M. lessons and activities. There is an emphasis taking a leadership role on board and watching out for the safety of your fellow sailors, too! Sailors gain confidence and pride as their skills improve and as they move towards independence on the water.

STEAM Sailing - The STEAM course is an exciting combination of sailing and science camp. During this two week course, participants get a thorough introduction to sailing but also take time to explore the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics behind it all. The course utilizes the REACH curriculum, developed by US Sailing, and the great outdoors to provide hands-on and interactive lessons. Participants will learn about wind and tide patterns, how and why boats float, use of simple machines, and environmental stewardship (just to name a few). You don't need pen and paper for these lessons, all of our activities are hands on and engaging. Like all of our program, we also include fun and empowering games to help our campers develop into critical thinkers and leaders in our community. No prior sailing experience is needed for this course.

Teen Sailing - This course is for all teens, regardless of sailing experience. The program is focused on fostering a love for the outdoors and the water. Participants will learn the basics of sailing in a fun, safety conscious, and supportive environment. In this unique course, once the basics have been covered, the class guides the rest of the curriculum! Our skilled instructors can teach advanced sailing skills and plan destination sails or teach from our STEAM curriculum and provide hands-on science activities. The possibilities are endless and the experience is one of a kind. We aim to build engaged, compassionate, and fun loving teens who want to help guide their own camp experience and form lasting connections with their peers.
